What happens to TV viewing during the Olympics?

​​​Do the Olympic Games drive an increase in TV viewing?  Looking at the past 8 years, just over an 8​-week summer period, average viewing hours per week stayed relatively stable with the exception of 2008 and 2012, when the Beijing and London Olympics were held.  In both years, average hours viewed per week jumped up 3 hours for Total Canada (Ind 2+).
